This my first vacation since being sober. There has been a lot of yelling from my wife at the kids. Its driving me mad, because it reminds me of how my mom was when I was growing up. I feel like running away, but there is no where to go. I would like to hit a meeting, but she would be more angry. Tomorrow is another day, another chance to be sober.
I didn't realize that your wife gets mad if you go to a meeting. That is not a good scenario.
ReplyDeleteyikes!!!
ReplyDeletestart looking for the positive man...change your focus as fast as you can (that's what I say to myself anyway). Try to bring them joy...it'll rub off on you.
crap...just trying to give you a pep talk!!!!
You are the second married man that told me their wives would be mad if they went to a meeting.

PS: TRY to enjoy your vaca.
I can remember those family vacations. They weren't much fun for me then. I don't do family vacations now--just a day here and a day there to do what I like to do. I don't understand the fear about meetings. It's what keeps you sober. Sorry your wife doesn't understand that.
ReplyDeleteTry to enjoy the vacation.
ReplyDeleteMaybe your wife's hormones are out of whack.
Your wife is probably stressed about something too.I hope the two of you can reconnect somehow..it is so important for couples to hear each other..then everything else becomes gravy.Good luck, exhale and do your best to stay in the day..especially on vacation :)
ReplyDeleteCould you call another Alcoholic?
ReplyDeleteGive yourself permission to have a good time. Hang in there, being in this situation and sober is much better than not being sober. I promise.
