Cured of Alcoholism
"We are not cured of alcoholism. What we really have is a daily reprieve
contingent on the maintenance of our spiritual condition" I haven't been checking in with god on a daily basis till lately. I don't know if it was resentments or just my lack of a positive attitude. Whatever it was, I have learned that in order to avoid some of the ruts in life I need to strengthen my spirituality.

I think it works the other way round.
As a recovering alcoholic, your resentments and/or lack of positive attitude is actually caused from not checking in with God (as you understand Him).
That's how I see it (and I voted for Bush too).
