I have been working on bids all week and I have one left. My assistant does not know how to make an excel spread sheet. She is young and was hired by my boss. He wants all the staff under 27 so that he will feel young again. It is like his fountain of youth. So I have to do all my own shit..

I hate work. I'm blessed to have work. I hate working.
Glad you aren't playing games that could kill you.
LMAO. Would it make you feel better to know that I was once not hired because the administrator said, "You know, Principals like young women right out of college, so they can mold and shape them."
I never thought to be offended because I didn't know 40 wasn't young. Heh. Happy 4th to one of my favorite bloggers!
Where did you get that awful photo? EEEEK!
Who can't learn how to do an excel spreadsheet in about 30 seconds? She must be very special.
If it helps.....there is a new lady in my office (special frined of the boss) who has never used a calculator. sigh
oh you know the old saying Lash..
If you want something done right ..
You have to do it yourself..
just sorry to hear it is someone elses work YOU have to do.
Thanks for stopping by my bloggage..I have missed you and adding you to my blogroll on my new blog..Postcards..Hope to see you more often and thanks for sharing.
Not knowing Excel is pretty unbelievable, especially in an assistant. The boss could get someone who is under 27 and has some ability. But that would probably be asking too much, right? After not having worked for the last 5 days, I got very spoiled by being at home. In fact, I would much rather be there than at work.
You know, you could always teach her to do her job. In the end, the time and effort spent will be worth it. She might be sharper and more helpful than your boss thought. You can't do it all yourself, my friend.
But you know that already, don't you?
Hey, there was this guy who was my editor 20 years ago when I was a student. He had to teach me EVERYTHING. I know I drove him crazy. But, I was a good writer, so he gave me a break and taught me stuff I didn't know how to do. We became friends. And he drank a lot and sold me some pot too.
About six months ago, I was in an AA meeting and saw that guy. He has two years sober. I have eleven years sober. Who's the teacher now? I'm still grateful for all he taught me, though. :-)
Have a great day!!
I thought those 20 somethings were supposed to be able to run circles around us over 20s in terms of computers. Bah. All they know is video games.
What's a spread sheet? LOL To "keep your hands in your own pockets" is a very cool thing...
hmmm...if all of my staff was under 27 it would make me feel older, "not young again"...but then I guess I'm weird.
Glad my game's not over.
Came by to say hello...sorry to hear about work.
Yes one can be living and yet still be lifeless when consumed by the drink.
A young one not knowing the basics of Excel, I did not know such existed :)
