cheap labor

I used cheap labor to do some tile work at my house. The job they did sucked and I had to rip some of the tile out and all of the base boards. I was so pissed off I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I ended up going outside and played catch with my younger son. After I calmed down, I went up stairs, paid them and told them to leave. I have been redoing their work all day and I am exhausted. I have to paint the base boards tonight.

A guy in our home group had a call I never want to take. The highway patrol called him to say that his teenage daughter died in a car crash. She was not wearing her seat belt and was thrown from the car. Also they are going to do a toxicology test. She was driving the car.

I'm glad your son helped calm you down. Our kids really are pretty wonderful parts of our lives.

I can't imagine the pain of losing a child. Losing a dog is hard enough.

Not good re the RTA. :-(

Tiles can be re-stuck.

Hope you're well, generally. I'll remember your mate's girl in my prayers.

Remember my tiling woes and pics from back in November? Same thing -- cheap, shit labor.
This is the second blog I have read over the weekend about someone losing their child. G-d, I can't even imagine...
Love to you, D,
Scout

I'm sorry about your tilework. I terribly sorry for your friends loss. I can't imagine the pain. A woman in my homegroup whose story has made me cry more than once, had a similar thing happen a few months ago. Her only son went on a snowboarding trip with friends, was asleep in the back seat (no belt) and was ejected when the driver swerved to miss a cow. Two of the four boys died. I think she's still sober, but she doesn't go to meetings anymore...she thinks god is punishing her. So sad. I think I'm going to go hug my kids right now.
